December 2015

Christmas Greetings

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your amazing support this year.

I hope 2015 has been a good year for you and your business or organisation.

We very much appreciate the opportunities you give us and consider ourselves lucky to have such loyal and interesting clients.

I don’t know if it is simply a matter of getting older or just busier but the years simply seem to fly by these days. As one who loves Christmas, summer and the beach, I don’t mind that summer has come around so quickly again.

We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Safe travels

Glenn and the team

Market Focus and Talk – Cyber insurance cover

Cyber Insurance has been one of the topics of talk in our industry this year. AIG, DUAL and Delta all offer comprehensive cyber insurance cover. In our increasingly IT reliant world we are seeing cyber related risks becoming greater for a wide range of firms

There has been a growing increase and size of cyber-attacks in 2015 from Ashley Madison with the release of their user profile information, to the increased number of extortions occurring as a result of hacked personal information in New Zealand. The US government had 4 million federal employees personal details stolen as well as personal information from countless corporations around the world.

A cyber insurance policy covers a client for liability relating to personal or confidential information being stolen, business interruption and loss of profits from a network attack, costs to restore IT systems after an attack, extortion costs, data forensics and consultancy costs associated with such an event.

It is expected that this type of cover will become standard for any small business that relies on its IT systems to operate.

What we have in store for 2016

We’ve also been making plans for 2016.

One thing we are looking at doing is going electronic. We'll be asking all clients early next year if they’d prefer to receive communication by email or by paper. Potential to save on paper, time, easier to find documentation.

We've also got new Steadfast wordings we're going to be able to access for our clients, new policy coverage options, and much more we’re working on.

UAVs – Who won the UAV prizes from the last newsletter

Last newsletter we gave away 5 model UAV’s to coincide with our new UAV insurance cover.

The winners were:
Wayne Dingle – Stallion Plastics
Philip Bradley – Blueriver Creative
Stewart Delamare – Landmark Surveyors Ltd
John Hesseling – Boulder Consultants Ltd
Keith Holswich – NZ Geomatics Ltd

We also had great feedback from the winners including lost productivity, H&S policies being breached and office competitions.
